Working with the Environment Agency8th August 2019
With 12 miles of rivers and carriers running across the Estate our river keeper works closely with the Environment Agency, today they were on site carrying out a fish species survey as part of a larger survey on the Hampshire Avon.
We found a good range of species including Dace, Gudgeon, wild Brown Trout, Bullheads and Salmon parr, the presence of this year’s Brown Trout and Salmon is an excellent indicator of good water quality and how the banks are managed to create the best habitat for them to spawn in.
